Gateway to growth: Henrico EDA launches global business hub with first three international companies
The Henrico Global Business Gateway opens in partnership with Gather, offering a soft landing for global firms entering the U.S. market.
Henrico County marked the official launch of its Global Business Gateway (GBG) program with a grand opening ceremony on May 20, welcoming three international companies as the first cohort in this new initiative designed to help foreign businesses establish a U.S. presence.
Held at the newly opened Gather West End location at 4101 Cox Road, the event featured remarks from local leaders, a ribbon cutting, and introductions of the inaugural GBG participants:
-
Rego, Incorporated, a digital ID and regulatory compliance firm from the Democratic Republic of the Congo
-
Saarathi Engtech, a defense technology and industrial manufacturing company from Mumbai, India
-
Inpronic USA, a custom control panel manufacturer from Latacunga, Ecuador
The GBG is a collaboration between the Henrico Economic Development Authority (Henrico EDA) and Gather, a co-working solutions provider. Located within Gather’s new West End facility—a site owned by Highwoods Properties—the program offers turnkey office space and a range of support services including market entry consulting, business development resources, and relocation assistance.
Participating companies also gain access to Henrico EDA’s RAMP (Research to Accelerate Market Potential) program, which delivers tailored market intelligence and strategic guidance to help businesses grow their footprint in the U.S.
With capacity to support up to nine companies at once, the GBG is part of the broader Henrico Tomorrow initiative, which focuses on revitalizing underutilized commercial areas and fostering inclusive economic growth.
“This is more than just a ribbon cutting—it’s the beginning of a new era for international business in Henrico,” said Brookland District Supervisor Daniel J. Schmitt.
Three Chopt District Supervisor Misty D. Roundtree emphasized the strength of public-private collaboration behind the project. “Today’s celebration is a testament to what’s possible when public and private sectors come together to support growth and opportunity.”
Yogo Dubois, founder and CEO of Rego, highlighted the importance of the GBG’s support in launching in the U.S. market. “Having dedicated office space within Gather’s vibrant co-working community and access to the GBG’s comprehensive business support services—particularly the RAMP program—are critical to our success,” he said.
The Henrico EDA hopes the program will serve as a model for attracting foreign direct investment and enhancing the county’s growing international business landscape, which currently includes more than 70 global firms.
