This weekend, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is set to host two major gardening events, attracting plant enthusiasts from across the region. The weekend kicks off with the Spring Plant Sale on Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4, followed by the Central Virginia Iris Society Show & Sale on Sunday, May 5.

The Spring Plant Sale, renowned as one of the largest in the region, will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days. Admission to the sale is free, though regular admission fees apply for those wishing to explore the Garden itself. Over 40 vendors will participate, offering a wide variety of plants and garden-related items. This event, organized by Garden volunteers, will proceed rain or shine in Parking Lot B and provides a perfect opportunity for attendees to have their gardening questions answered by experts.

On Sunday, the focus shifts to the exquisite world of irises with the Central Virginia Iris Society’s annual show and sale, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the sale and from noon to 4 p.m. for the show. Like Saturday’s event, the iris show and sale do not require an admission fee, except for those entering the Garden for a tour.
