Due to the graphic nature of the injuries, we are not sharing the images directly. RACC has them posted on their Instagram along with this statement.

We need your help. This dog was found in a garbage bag off the Buttermilk Trail this morning. The bag was tied closed, and she was still alive trying to free herself. Our officers tried very hard to keep her breathing until we could get her to the vet, but she died shortly after arriving. 💔

Anyone recognize her? Tri-color female Pit Bull mix, roughly 4 years old, anal prolapse, cropped ears, and no microchip or ID. Anyone out walking this morning in the area and see her? This is heartbreaking to say the least. Please help us find the person(s) responsible for this savage act of cruelty. If you saw something, say something. 🗣️
