Zac Walker Enters Race for First District Richmond City Council Seat

Elected in November of 2016, Andreas Addison is the current councilperson for the 1st District.

Zac Walker, a dedicated community leader and advocate for Richmond Public Schools, safety, and responsible development, is excited to announce his candidacy for Richmond City Council’s First District seat in the 2024 general election. A proud resident of Richmond’s First District and a Virginia Commonwealth University graduate, Walker is committed to leveraging his extensive experience to create a vibrant, equitable city that benefits all residents.
With a strong belief in the transformative power of education, Walker champions Richmond Public Schools as foundational to the city’s future. He envisions a community where families can thrive. Walker’s vision also includes responsible development that serves the entire community, fostering growth while preserving the city’s unique character.
As the president of the Monument Avenue Park Civic Association, Walker has not only connected neighbors and enhanced community life but also made each resident feel valued and part of a larger whole.
“I’m running for City Council to ensure our community’s voice is heard,” Walker said. “Together, we can build a Richmond where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. I am excited to bring my passion and experience to Council, advocating for policies that support our schools, improve safety, and encourage thoughtful development.”
