Mayor Levar Stoney will be facing Rep. Abigail Spanberger in the Democratic primary in 18 months.

It has been discussed around Richmond and Stoney filled out the paper last month but now it’s official Richmond’s Mayor Levar Stoney wants to become Governor Levar Stoney. He faces a Democratic primary opponent in U.S. Rep. Abigail Spanberger, D-7th.

The announcement was made on Twitter with the expected slick video.
