The 2023 Henrico State of the County address was unlike prior years’ presentations of highlights and accomplishments.
Held in the new Henrico Sports & Events Center, the address featured a high school marching band performing on a slick hardwood floor and audience members shaking thundersticks and other noisemakers.
“I don’t know how else to say it, but this is a community celebration,” County Manager John A. Vithoulkas told the guests.
The County Manager and departmental leaders shared updates and highlights from key service areas, including education, finance, economic development, tourism, infrastructure, housing, sustainability, and public safety.
