The brewery made the announcement on Facebook today.

Well friends, it’s been a great ride. The beer industry is a roller coaster. With it comes ups, downs, and even some loops on occasion. We’ve ridden them all over the last seven and a half years. When I started this dream 10 years ago, I never realized how many people would become my friends. It’s been a blessing getting to know all of you over the years.

The beer industry has changed over the last few years since COVID. With the market becoming even more competitive and expenses rising, I find myself at a crossroads. Opening and running a business is a huge undertaking, and I have learned a lot about myself from this adventure. I have learned about empathy, kindness, loss. I’ve also learned that sometimes you have to do things that you may not like.

This is one of those times. As of 12/3/23, Castleburg will close. Until then, let’s celebrate with some beer. We have a lot to go through.

Thank you for all your support,
Karl

This is on the heels of Isley which suddenly anounced it’s closure earlier this month.
