The Students are Coming, The Students are Coming

Slow down and have your patience handy as new arrivals to Richmond settle in.

Shout out to the Fan District Association Facebook that provided this excellent summary of the expected arrival dates of students at our local colleges/universities. (For the record I’ll be driving my child up to GMU on Friday and would appreciate y’all staying out of my way.)

Local university students will be returning to campuses across Richmond throughout August. Even if you’re not dropping off a student, college move-in processes will impact traffic during peak commuting hours. Slow down and be patient.
We’ve outlined when and where certain neighborhoods could see some traffic.

Neighborhood: Northside
Traffic: I-64, North Lombardy Street, Brook Road

Virginia Commonwealth University

Also expect a bit more chaos in Carytown and your favorite restaurant as families explore.
