PHOTOS: Children’s Hospital event surprises young patients with NASCAR-themed goodies, raises funds for foster care services
NASCAR drivers, Richmond Raceway, and ESTES spread the love at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU this week prior to race weekend.
In a heartwarming event at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond’s Children’s Tower this week, Worldwide Express, the Official Logistics Partner of NASCAR, alongside the NASCAR Foundation and NASCAR drivers Bayley Currey and Carson Hocevar, delighted patients with racing-themed goodies, which included numerous Speedy Bears donated by the NASCAR Foundation. This event marked the first occasion since the Children’s Tower opened its doors in April.
Prior to this charitable endeavor, Worldwide Express had organized another philanthropic event in the Richmond area. The event, called Track Laps for Charity, took place at Richmond Raceway and successfully raised thousands of dollars for UMFS, a non-profit foster care services agency based in Virginia. The event saw the participation of hundreds of local residents, who drove their personal cars at speeds of up to 55mph for five laps, making a $20 donation to support UMFS. This event occurred just a few days before the Craftsman Truck Race at Richmond Raceway.
The occasion at the Children’s Hospital is part of Worldwide Express’ second annual entitlement sponsorship of the Worldwide Express 250 for Carrier Appreciation. Last year, this sponsorship initiative generated hundreds of thousands of dollars for UMFS and CHoR.
Worldwide Express serves as the Official Logistics Partner of NASCAR and is a comprehensive, non-asset-based logistics provider. They offer access to industry-leading small package, truckload, and less-than-truckload shipping solutions, serving over 115,000 customers.
