USWNT Kick Off World Cup Run on Really Big Screen at City Stadium
Gather some friends tonight and watch the women kick off their drive for yet another World Cup title
The Richmond Kickers are excited to announce they will host two FIFA Women’s World Cup AU/NZ 2023 watch parties at City Stadium featuring the US Women’s National Team in the group stages of the tournament when they face Vietnam on Friday, July 21 and The Netherlands on Wednesday, July 26.
“Bringing the community together to celebrate the world’s game at City Stadium is one of our club’s most important missions, and we’re excited to host these events free to the public,” Richmond Kickers’ COO and President, Camp Peery said. “Richmond is a soccer city and it’s our privilege to provide an event for RVA to cheer on the US Women’s National Team as they compete for their fifth world title in Australia and New Zealand.”
Fans will have the opportunity to experience the Women’s World Cup like never before in Richmond at City Stadium. The matches will be streamed live on a massive 24-foot by 13.5-foot LED screen at field level as well as an 11.5-foot by 6.5-foot LED screen on the concourse while the sounds and commentary of the match are played through the stadium’s world-class audio system installed back in 2020.
City Stadium will offer free admission and parking based on availability, and fans can guarantee their place at each of the watch parties by reserving a ticket online.
In the lead-up to the match, fans can enjoy live music, local food trucks, and 40 draft beer, cider, seltzer, and wine options. Doors for both events will open at 7 p.m. with happy hour specials happening between 7-8 p.m. Kickoff for both matches is currently scheduled for 9 p.m. local time.
