The Richmond Night Market is proud to announce the kickoff of its 5th season of providing a fresh and unique experience for artists and families in the Richmond Region.  Beginning Saturday, April 8th from 5pm – 9pm at the 17th Street Market (Shockoe Bottom), the Richmond Night Market will host 40+ artists, vendors and small business owners in their Artisan Village, feature live interactive art experiences in the Maker Space, showcase the talent of local musicians on the Main Stage and welcome children and families to unleash their creative spirit in the Creative Kids Hangout.
Celebrated as the 2020 Attraction Partner of the Year by Richmond Region Tourism,  the Richmond Night Market will continue to provide this monthly open air social gathering held every 2nd Saturday (April – December), will highlight creativity, commerce, and community while showcasing the layered and diverse aspects of the artistic scene within the region. Attendees will be able to shop local and visiting artists, participate in interactive stations at the Makerspace and enjoy live music and a DJ to complete the night.
Featured programming on Saturday, April 8th includes a musical performance by the Hi-Definition Band, a DJ set for the evening provided by the Heavy Hitter DJ Lonnie B, live painting by visual artist in the Makerspace, Justice Dwight and family art experiences provided by The Arts Community Center and Spark Studio.“We are looking forward to the Richmond Night Market rolling out its 5th season of providing the arts and culture community with a consistent platform to share their art, patrons the opportunity to support our growing arts scene and families the opportunity to tap into their own creativity,” says Adrienne Cole Johnson, Co-founder of the Richmond Night Market.
Specifically aimed to highlight a curated number of independent artists during each Market, acceptance for artists is rolling and programming for the space is revolving. The goal is to keep the elements unique so that it becomes a natural part of your second saturday routine.
