A free transportation event this Friday will give people an opportunity to learn about regional transit planning and ideas for the future.

PlanRVA and ChamberRVA are partnering for the 2023 Richmond Regional Transportation Planning Organization Transportation Forum on Friday, March 17th, from 8-10 a.m. at Main Street Station. Breakfast and networking will take place beforehand from 7:15 – 8:00 a.m.

The Transportation Forum will highlight how regional leaders are working alongside community members to make roads, trails, and pedestrian infrastructure safer and more accessible for everyone. Panel discussions will also provide an overview of the region’s multi-modal transportation investments and opportunities to improve transit infrastructure.

Attendees will be entered into a drawing to win two roundtrip Amtrak tickets anywhere along the Northeast Regional, which travels as far south as Roanoke and as far north as Boston, thanks to a donation from the Virginia Passenger Rail Authority. A bicycle giveaway will also take place, thanks to a donation from the Greater Richmond Transit Company.

The event is free, but registration through ChamberRVA is required. Registration closes on Thursday, March 16, at 10:00 a.m.
