Crafted, a new restaurant by Michael Cohan and Justin McDonald, is now open in Libbie Mill in the Near West End. Crafted occupies approximately 6,000 square feet in the building located at 4900 Libbie Mill East Boulevard, adding another tenant to the urban mixed-use development.
The restaurant group runs Marty’s Grill and Riverbound Café, and the craft beer store Brewville, all in Mechanicsville. Crafted will follow the offerings of the other restaurants and serve American cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a modern, casual, family-friendly setting.
“Part of our goal for Libbie Mill – Midtown is to be a place where our residents, commercial tenants and the RVA community-at-large can come to relax,” says Gumenick Properties’ director of property management, Diane Tidwell. “Crafted is yet another fun and entertaining amenity for residents of Libbie Mill-Midtown and the surrounding community to enjoy.”
“With the great success we’ve had in Hanover, we are so excited about the expansion opportunity at Libbie Mill-Midtown that will allow us to share our food, drinks and amazing service with a new market more centralized to the entire Richmond region,” said McDonald. “We are trying to create an environment that is stylish and fun, while still maintaining our ideals of amazing customer service, casual friendliness and dedication to doing things the right way, while using as many local purveyors as possible.”
The addition comes as the construction progresses on Lumber Liquidators national headquarters on the Staples Mill Road edge of the community. When completed, the headquarters in the 53,000 sq. ft Bakers Mill building will be filled by over 200 employees who support Lumber Liquidators’ nationwide retail activity. The company has also started construction of Wellsmith Apartments at the development, which will provide an additional 349 apartment units to the community, with an anticipated delivery date of Spring 2021.
