BRUNCH, the newest of the Rueger Restaurant Group family, opened about six months ago, replacing Starlite in the Fan. Since then, it’s drawn huge crowds (and sometimes long waits) for its decadent breakfast and brunch offerings. My wife and I often go for breakfast because we live just a block away, are up early, and there aren’t a ton of places open as early as we’re up on the weekends.
While those offerings are delicious, I’d never been for dinner. I was offered a chance to check out the new dinner menu launching Wednesday night, and I can confidently say it’s equally as delicious. If you like the dinner fare at LUNCH/SUPPER in Scott’s Addition, you’ll be an immediate fan here, too.
Highlights for me included the homemade brioche with ricotta and local tomatoes and the hagar steak caprese. My dining companions also got some tasty plates that I tried, including the loaded fried chicken with Yukon gold potatoes, bacon, green onions, and pepperonata, and the jumbo shrimp with lump crab meat, peppers, onions, and corn.
Brunch is located at 2600 W. Main Street in the Fan and is open Tuesday through Saturday for dinner (in addition to their regular hours) from 5:00 – 9:00 PM.
