The Byrd Theatre to show film “To Dust” as part of “Science on Screen” series

“To Dust” is the second in the series of Science on Screen events this spring pairing a scientific lecture with a screening of a feature film. The screening takes place April 7th at 7:15 PM.

The Byrd Theatre in Carytown is celebrating 90 years in the community, and the celebration continues this week with the Science On Screen series at the historic movie palace.

The Byrd was a recipient of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and the Cooledge Corner Theatre Science on Screen Grant, which made the series possible.

Director of Academic Technology at St. Christopher’s School, Hiram Cuevas and Executive Director, Chabad of Virginia, Rabbi Yossel Kranz will discuss what happens after death from both the biological standpoint and the context of death and mourning in the Jewish faith.
