Members sought for Richmond City Council Navy Hill Development (Coliseum) Advisory Commission

If you’d like to advise the city on how/if they should redevelop the Coliseum and the surrounding area you should apply to be on the advisory committee.

Richmond City Council invites and encourages interested persons to apply to serve on the Richmond City Council Navy Hill Development Advisory Commission.

Richmond City Council established the Richmond City Council Navy Hill Development Advisory Commission (Richmond City Council Ordinance #2018-297) to assist with providing advice concerning ordinances anticipated to be introduced by the Richmond Mayor regarding a “Navy Hill Development” in downtown Richmond.

Those interested in learning more and/or wishing to apply to serve are invited to review the Richmond City Council Navy Hill Development Advisory CommissionOrdinance information and download the application form (note: open and save form to your device prior to filling out) from the Richmond City Council Boards and Commissions Information Portal. (http://www.richmondgov.com/CityClerk/forms/NavyHillApplication.pdf)

The commission does have some requirements listed in that last pdf.

The Council anticipates that the Chairman and Vice Chairman will have experience with large development projects, preferably including a public component, or with legal matters and local taxation matters. The Council anticipates that the membership of the Commission as a whole will include expertise in legal matters, 3 tax increment financing, entertainment and sporting facility attendance and finance, real estate development, public finance, and local taxation.
