Weekend Event Picks: Court End Christmas, Tacky Light Run, GardenFest of Lights, and more

CarMax Tacky Light Run in Midlothian – Step into a tacky wonderland filled with lights, elves, the big man himself, and more. Organizers have turned RVA’s favorite holiday tradition into a can’t miss experience for anyone and everyone. Travel to the North Pole and spend a night immersed in holiday cheer. This fun race begins at 6:00 PM on Saturday, December 8th. Registration starts at $10. Sign up here.

Fan District Holiday House Tour – The annual Holiday House Tour is a Fan favorite and the Fan District Association’s primary fundraising event. Proceeds from this magical event fund neighborhood improvement projects and community services for Fan residents all year long. Step inside beautiful, historic homes all weekend long that are handsomely decorated for the holidays. Tickets start at $25 and are available here.

Court End Christmas Downtown – The 32nd annual Court End Christmas will take place Sunday, December 9th, from noon until 5:00 PM. Free admission and shuttle transportation will be provided to The Valentine, the Valentine First Freedom Center, Historic St. John’s Church, Virginia State Capitol, The John Marshall House, Monumental Church, ACWM – White House of the Confederacy and more. This fun community event includes children’s activities, carriage rides, performances, refreshments, gift shops, music, and tours. Get all the info here.

Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights – The Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights opened at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden on November 23rd and will be lighting up the grounds until January 7th. Over a million lights enhance the beautiful gardens and the theme, “Bringing Art to Light” features everything from van Gogh and Monet to Bob Ross, Totoro and Pikachu. The GardenFest of Lights also features, handcrafted botanical decorations, model trains, holiday dinners, firepit with s’mores and hot chocolate (for purchase); nightly family activities, and more.
