Everything old is new again as The Henrico Theatre Company celebrates their 40th season this fall and winter by bringing back some of their favorite shows from years gone by.

The Company is a community theatre company sponsored by Henrico Recreation & Parks with a residency at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen.

Here’s a look at the upcoming season.

Always… Patsy Cline

September 14th – 30th, 2018
A musical by Ted Swindley. Directed by Craig Smith.

This tribute to the legendary country singer is based on a true story about Cline’s longtime friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger. Includes unforgettable hits such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, and Walking After Midnight. Not only are we starting off our 40th season with our sell-out production from 2010, it will again feature Shannon Gibson Brown as Patsy Cline and Jenny Howren as Louise!

A Christmas Carol

November 30th – December 16th, 2018
A play with music by Lynn Stevens. Directed by Terri Moore.

By suggesting famous Christmas carols, this author incorporates appropriate music for the retelling of this classic story. An old miser is given a chance for redemption when he is visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve. The true meaning of Christmas is captured in this inspiring tale that we first presented in 1989.

Arsenic & Old Lace

May 13th – 19th, 2019
A comedy by Joseph Kesselring. Directed by H. Lynn Smith.

We first produced this ready made comedy hit in 1997. Meet the sweet old spinster aunts who populate their cellar with the remains of socially “acceptable” gentlemen roomers; the antics of their brother who thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt; and the activities of the other brother – who is eerily similar to Boris Karloff. One of the most popular plays of all time!

The Fantasticks

July 12th – 28th, 2019
A musical comedy with book and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt. Directed by Richard Koch.

There’s always time to remember this romantic fable about a boy, a girl, their fathers (who try to keep them apart) and a love that grows with each season. This longest running musical in the world was first performed at HTC in 1985 and includes such memorable songs as Soon It’s Gonna Rain, Time to Remember and Plant a Radish.

Tickets are available now and can be purchased as a season package or for individual shows. All tickets can be purchased in person at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, by calling 804.501.5859, or online.
