Flying Squirrels hosting blues music festival to benefit music education nonprofit

Parkfest will be held in The Diamond’s Blue Lot on Saturday, September 29th.

The Richmond Flying Squirrels is teaming up with the River City Blues Society to host “Parkfest at The Diamond”, a music festival to benefit Flying Squirrels Charities and Our Blues in the Schools program.

Parkfest will be held in The Diamond Blue Lot on Saturday, September 29th from 12:30 until 7:00 PM. Tickets and a full lineup of bands can be found here.

Parkfest features a variety of Blues-themed bands and will include local food trucks and craft beer. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Local and National acts such as The Bush League, Hard Swimmin’ Fish, Vanessa Collier, and Victor Wainwright and the Train are slated to perform at the festival. The event will be held in The Diamond Blue Lot.

“The River City Blues Society is excited and proud to partner with the Richmond Squirrels Organization and bring the ParkFest Blues Festival to the Diamond,” said Sandra Faulkner, Board Member with the River City Blues Society and ParkFest Committee member.“

The one-day, family-friendly music festival will also feature local food trucks, domestic and craft beers, wine, and more.
