A forthcoming project in Glen Allen will help improve traffic flow and reduce accidents. The Virginia Department of Transportation plans to build a roundabout at the intersection of Springfield Road and Francistown Road in Henrico County.

Proposed improvements include replacing the signalized intersection with a single lane roundabout. Additional amenities will include sidewalks, crosswalks, and pedestrian ramps.

A public hearing was held on Wednesday, July 11th at Hungary Creek Middle School. The meeting brochure is available online.

Construction will begin in the summer of 2021 with an estimated completion a year later, at a cost of $2.3 million.
