Kings Dominion hosting week long Star Spangled Celebration in honor of Independence Day
The event will feature nightly fireworks, patriotic performances, a pig-pickin’ barbecue, and active or retired servicemembers can enjoy free admission.
Kings Dominion is hosting a giant, days-long Independence Day event known as the Star Spangled Celebration, featuring the park’s biggest fireworks displays of the season each night of the event, June 30th through July 4th.
In addition to extended 20-minute firework shows, the five-day celebration features patriotic performances from local military bands, unique character photo opportunities, and a special down-home dining option during the five-day celebration.
The park’s chef, Tiffanie, is cooking up an all-you-can-eat BBQ feast on July 4th featuring a whole roast pig complete with all the sides like corn on the cob, BBQ baked beans, and ice-cold watermelon. Tickets for the buffet are discounted for season pass holders and tickets are available online.
Military service members will also enjoy free park admission June 30th through July 8th–that’s for both active and retired military personnel as well as veterans with honorable or medical discharge. Either a DD214 or government issued ID will be accepted at the front gate.
