Work begins on $119 million rehabilitation hospital just west of Short Pump

The new 200,000-square-foot facility will be built in the West Creek development and is a joint venture between VCU Health and Sheltering Arms.

Work is officially underway on a $119 million healthcare project in Short Pump.

Sheltering Arms Hospital and VCU Health broke ground Tuesday on a 200,000-square-foot inpatient rehab facility in West Creek Medical Park.

Dubbed the Sheltering Arms Rehab Institute, the joint venture will have 114 beds, provide care for those recovering from stroke and spinal cord and brain injuries, and provide general rehabilitation for neurological diseases and disorders.
