4th District Leaf Bag Blitz starts on December 12th

Don’t worry DPW won’t leaf you hanging with a bunch of bags.

If you read a few of the local NextDoor or Facebook threads you would think that the leaf pick-up situation is the greatest crisis facing our nation. It’s not. We posted about the changes a while back and originally the plan was for the trucks to pick-up 10 or less bags every week. Rumors are that’s not happening every time or the number of bags just makes that unfeasible. As a result, there will be a blitz happening December 12th-30th.

Councilwoman Kristen Larson posted the details in her latest newsletter:

The Department of Public Works (DPW) will conduct a “Leaf Bag Blitz” for our district from December 12 through December 30.  During this time ALL bags that are set by the curb will be collected. You will not be limited to the 10 bags per week that are picked up with your normal trash collection. Trash collection crews will continue to collect 10 bags with your trash on collection day while Blitz Crews will be covering the district collecting any additional bags on other days. Make sure to have your bags by your curb by December 12.
