Meeting this Thursday on proposed roundabout at Laburnum and I-95

VDOT is looking for feedback on a proposed roundabout that would seek to ease traffic problems with driver accessing I-95 from Laburnum. There will be a meeting held this Thursday at Linwood Holton. If you can’t make the meeting but have something you want to say you have until December 17th to submit comments by mail to VDOT Richmond District, 2430 Pine Forest Drive, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.

Project Description
The primary purpose of this project is to improve traffic flow through the area during peak travel times, eliminate prolonged periods of delay and improve safety within the project limits.

Some of the major improvements proposed for this project are:

• Replace the existing intersection of Laburnum Avenue and Interstate 195 south with a roundabout.
• Construct a separate left turn lane at Interstate 195 north and Laburnum Avenue.
• Construct a single travel lane between the two intersections.

A public information meeting will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Linwood Holton Elementary School – Gymnasium, 1600 W. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23227. A meeting brochure is available.
