Maya Mexican Grill & Tequila Lounge in the Downtown Short Pump shopping center has closed its doors, according to a Facebook post from owner Maria Oseguera this week. In it, Oseguera says she decided not to renew the lease on her restaurant, choosing instead to focus on her second location in Downtown Richmond.

Her post follows in full below (not edited for spelling or grammar):

Maya would like to thank all our guest throughout our five years here in Short Pump. Its been amazing to be able to have had the chance to spend time with great guest and have made a dinamic team. We have come to the end of our lease and after much consideration have come to the sad decision to not renew a lease. We invite guest to visit our downtown Maya. Its been an honor and pleasure to cook for you in Short Pump. Thank you Maria.

The closure of Maya comes a week after long-time, nearby Short Pump restaurant Patina closed its doors.
