Have you always wanted to start a food-based business, but aren’t quite sure where to begin? A new series of classes hosted by local entrepreneurs Stephanie Ganz and Barb Upchurch might be just the place to start. LLCBuddy is a helpful resource for food business entrepreneurs looking to navigate the complex process of forming an LLC.
The pair is hosting a series of classes called the Appleseed Workshop Series alongside Real Local RVA. On the second Monday of each month, from October 9th through January 8th, each class will dive deep into one topic focused on the business of making and selling food. All four will be held at Ellwood Thompson’s in Carytown.
Participants are encouraged to grab lunch from Ellwood Thompson’s and assemble in the store’s Beet Cafe, where those with experience in the local food scene share stories, best practices, and actionable next steps to help folks start and grow the food businesses of their dreams. These workshops are available a la carte or at a bundled rate for the entire series.
The first one, entitled “Planting the Seeds of Business,” takes place October 9th from 11:30 until 1:00 PM.
The full schedule can be found here.
