French restaurant Amour Wine Bistro has closed the doors of its Carytown establishment, owner Paul Heitz announced in an email to customers last Friday.

After seven years in business, Heitz decided to return to his home of France to spend more time with family, he said. As such, he sold the restaurant to new owners, the identities of whom have not yet been revealed. He said, however, that the restaurant will reopen later this year.

Très chers amis, dear friends and guests of Amour Wine Bistro

For over 7 years, Amour Wine Bistro was a place of daily excitement for me. I created Amour to share with you the pleasure of Pairing Wine, Food, and Life. It has been over 7 years of love, Amour.

I gave 100% of my energy sharing the passion with you, my guests, my now friends, and the amazing Richmond community.

As much as I have enjoyed sharing my passion for Wine, Food and Life, I have chosen to spend more time with my French family and my elderly parents when it is still time to do so. I have passed this fabulous Carytown location to new owners on the last day of August.

If you like to stay in touch, please send me an email at [email protected]

I will organize a few events here and overseas.

Please support and visit the new owners later this year when they will reopen the restaurant.

Je vous aime et je vous remercie,
I love you and thank you so much,
Paul
