Two alarm blaze breaks out at Country Club of Virginia late Friday morning

Two alarms were called as a result of the blaze, which was suppressed by the building’s sprinkler system. The fire was marked under control less than an hour later.

Richmond fire crews were called to the Country Club of Virginia’s clubhouse at 6031 St. Andrews Lane Friday morning around 10:45 AM for reports of a fire.

Two alarms were called as a result of the blaze, which was suppressed by the building’s sprinkler system. Hot weather, rather than the fire itself, was likely a factor in the decision to call two alarms.

Responding stations and units were reported by the Metro Richmond Fire Incidents Facebook page.

Once on scene, fire crews reportedly found flames coming from the roof as well as inside the clubhouse. The fire was marked under control less than an hour later, and no one was injured–patrons or fire crews.

The incident remains under investigation.
