Don’t Look Back Fest takes place at various venues – Go check out some great music and support the employees impacted by a fire at popular Carytown taco joint Don’t Look Back with Don’t Look Back Fest, a music festival taking place at Flora, The Camel, and Three Notch’d Brewing’s RVA Collab House, respectively. All but one show is solely donation-based. Give generously and help support the folks who so diligently served you when you’re out and about and help them get back on their feet. Celebrate #804Day at Buskey Cider in Scott’s Addition – For the second year in a row, Buskey Cider in Scott’s Addition will host a celebration honoring #804Day, Friday August 4th. The “holiday” recognizes the moniker for the Central Virginia area, which is designated with the 804 area code. Neighboring restaurants Boulevard Burger and Brew and Fat Dragon will serve up sliders and firecracker shrimp, respectively, along with Convergent Coffee and Trussings Craft Fizz. There will also be shelter dogs available for adoption and more. It all kicks off Friday, August 4th at 3:00 PM and runs through 10:00 PM. All the details here.
Enjoy vintage craft beer recipes at the VHS’s BrewHaha – The Virginia Historical Society is kicking off Virginia Craft Beer Month with a new festival, BrewHaHa. A celebration of Virginia craft beer, it will also feature rare historic recipes from the VHS archives. It all takes place this Saturday, August 5th from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. In addition to beers brewed according to historical recipes, there will be other beer selections available from Ardent Craft Ales, Three Notch’d Brewing Company, Trapezium Brewing Co., Center of the Universe Brewing Company, Alewerks Brewing Company, The Virginia Beer Company, Stone Brewing Richmond, Blue Bee Cider, and Buskey Cider. The festival will also include live music and food vendors. General admission tickets are $24; designated drivers and other non-drinkers can attend for $10. Learn more here.
Music in the Park continues at Forest Hill Park – Music in the Park, a free outdoor concert series held at the Stone House at Forest Hill Park, continues this Sunday, August 6th with The Moogly Blues, an electric blues band. This fun, family-friendly event kicks off at 6:00 PM at Forest Hill Avenue and West 42nd Street. Be sure to bring chairs and/or a blanket, and picnic dinners are welcome, too. Learn more here.
