A bridal store in Short Pump has closed abruptly, leaving brides, bridesmaids, and other customers without dresses and other merchandise that many had paid for in full. Alfred Angelo, a national bridal retailer, closed this week without notice after the chain filed for bankruptcy. Customers who visited the store looking for their dresses and other items were shocked to learn they may be out of luck.
WRIC reporter Parker Slaybaugh visited the store after customers complained–several of whom may be without dresses for weddings that were just mere weeks away–to get answers. Employees at the store wouldn’t comment on camera and escorted Slaybaugh and his photographer from the premises after he asked the tough questions. One customer even called Henrico Police after she was told her order wouldn’t be fulfilled even though it was paid for in full.
