Three local yogis purchase both Richmond area Bikram Yoga studios

Three local yoga enthusiasts are the new owners of the Bikram Yoga studios in the Richmond area. Rachel Mzhickteno, Stephanie Greis, and Victor Perea recently purchased the two studios in Richmond’s Southside and West End.

Bikram has been serving the Richmond Community since 2003 at their first location 3024 Stony Point Road. Meeting a growing demand for yoga, a second location was opened in January of 2007 at 3621 Cox Road in the West End. These are the only studios offering this internationally recognized unique and healing style of yoga in Richmond.

The new owners plan to make yoga more accessible by offering more convenient class times and adding 60 minute express classes to the schedule beginning July 1st.

The trio will also introduce new sustainable naturally hygienic flooring in the yoga rooms, and the Stony Point location will be getting a cosmetic makeover with new paint and floors throughout.

“We’re passionate about providing a clean, welcoming and friendly environment for people to discover their own personal wellness,” said Greis.

Bikram Yoga is the original hot yoga. There are hundreds of yoga studios offering this style of yoga making it the largest yoga community worldwide. The class is a beginner level consisting of 26 postures and two breathing exercises performed in a room heated to 105 degrees with 40 percent humidity. Although this class is beginner oriented, it is very challenging for all levels of practitioners.
