PHOTOS: Mayor’s Bike to Work ride on the T-Pot Bridge

The morning was perfect for a quick ride across the river with the Mayor.

We caught up with Mayor Levar Stoney and his bike riding companions on the T. Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge. The ride was part of the National Ride a Bike to Work Day.

For the mayor the ride began at Kanawha Plaza then went to Brown’s Island before shooting over the T-pot Bridge. On the Southside Mayor Stoney made a brief statement. Pointing to the success efforts such as the T-pot Bridge he reaffirmed his commitment to biking infrastructure and the riverfront. He further went on to promise that during his first term he will see a study completed into linking the trails of the Southside to Belle Isle and the riverfront. Specifically he pointed to the missing link near the Suntrust buildings not far from where he gave his statements.
