Museum District Association Mother’s Day House & Garden Tour set for Sunday

Now in its 23rd year, the 2017 Museum District Mother’s Day House & Garden Tour provides an opportunity for guests to go inside some of the area’s most historic homes, gardens, and institutions.

Mother’s Day is always a treat in the Museum District, and a rare opportunity to tour some of the most beautiful homes in the neighborhood.

Now in its 23rd year, the 2017 Museum District Mother’s Day House & Garden Tour provides an opportunity for guests to go inside some of the area’s most historic homes, gardens, and institutions.

Each year, proceeds from this annual event are reinvested in the neighborhood association for maintenance, beautification, and enhanced safety. The tour also supports neighborhood local nonprofit organizations like Albert Hill Middle School, William Fox Elementary PTA, Prevent A Litter Veterinary Hospital, ACTS, Fan Free Clinic and the FRIENDS Association for Children.

A trolley will run continuously between 1:00 and 6:00 PM, making stops near the homes on the tour and the Virginia Historical Society.

Tickets are $20 in advance and available at the following neighborhood businesses:

  • Buddy’s Place, 600 N. Shepherd Street
  • Chadwick & Son Orchids, 203 N. Belmont Avenue
  • Ellwood Thompson’s Local Market, 4 N. Thompson Street
  • Mongrel, 2924 W. Cary Street
  • Tweed, 4035 Lauderdale Drive
  • Williams and Sherrill, 2003 Huguenot Road

The Virginia Historical Society, located at 428 N. Boulevard, will provide free parking, ticket sales, will call, refreshments, and restrooms. Day of Tour tickets are $25.
