Anchor Bar where wings are the thing set to open on Saturday, Wood & Iron open and going strong

The circle of restaurant life rolls on as new restaurants rise from the ashes in two old dining spots.

Anchor Bar which claims the title of the original Buffalo wing will be open this Saturday in the old Champps at Stony Point Fashion Park.

Karri Pieffer and RTD have the details:

The sauce at Anchor Bar comes in six varieties – four of which are heat-specific (from mild to “suicidal if you dare”), plus chipotle bbq and spicy garlic parm. Prices vary from $14 for a single – $45 for a platter, plus the option to add 5 wings to any order for $6. Boneless wings and chicken tenders are also available.

The restaurant also serves pizza, burgers, salads and entrees.

In other tasty wing news Wood & Iron Gameday has been open for a couple weeks. Wood & Iron went into the old Brew spot at the Shoppes at Bellegrade off of Huguenot. The restaurant is from the same folks that are behind the Flying Pig and Asado. Fortunately they brought their tasty smoked wings to Wood & Iron.

We swung by there this past Friday and the place was packed. They are living up to the Gameday aspect of their name as multiple televisions are in your line of sight no matter where you sit. Lots of beers and plenty of dining options make this a pretty good bet for dinner with a game.
