Style Weekly dines at Mi Jalisco

You’ve got plenty of dining options along MacArthur and here is a review of one of the newest additions.

There is a little stretch of MacArthur that doesn’t lack for food options, with the big hitters being Dot’s Back Inn and The Mill. Into that fray jumps Mi Jalisco  at 4019 MacArthur Ave. This is the fourth location of Mi Jalisco with the other three located in Ashland, Amelia, and Ruther Glen.

While the website promises “authentic Mexican cuisine” the menu and the Style Weekly review promise more of what you’d expect from an Americanized versions of Mexican cuisine.

The quesadilla Mexicana ($10.95), which is among eight different quesadilla options on the menu, is better, showcasing a solid amount of shredded pork, cheese sauce, silky sautéed onions and a fajita-style medley of peppers. It’s accompanied by a side of guacamole and the ubiquitous Spanish rice. As I find with each entree I try, the portion is hearty — you’ll go home full. And like the enchiladas, it’s tasty enough for a convenient, inexpensive bite.
