The Nutzy Rotary Funn Run on December 3rd is a 5K race is open to all ages and skill levels. The emphasis is on fun as evidenced by the use of two “n”s, which is the international sign for double fun. Although the emphasis is on fun it has the serious side of benefiting Junior Achievement of Central Virginia and The Flying Squirrels Charities.

The race starts Saturday morning at 8:30 with 3 divisions (Runners, Walkers and Strollers) with a stagger start from the Diamond. Everyone heads out onto Hermitage Road up to Broad Street and the heads on back. There is good reason to head back because at the finish line there is the Finish Line Party in the heated Party Pavilion at the Diamond. Music and refreshments await conquerers of the 5k and you can say the you successfully ran with a squirrel and not over one for a change.

Since you’ll already be in the perfect spot you can just stroll over to Broad Street after celebrating and welcome Santa to town since the 33rd Annual Dominion Christmas Parade also take place this Saturday and starts at 10 AM.
