Short Pump barbecue restaurant to be featured on Food Network show
Upcoming show “Ginormous Foods” will feature “The Flatliner,” a $28 sandwich loaded with three pounds of meats and other toppings.
The Halligan Bar & Grill in Short Pump will make its television debut soon, the restaurant announced this week. The barbecue joint in West Broad Village is to be featured on a new Food Network show called “Ginormous Foods.”
Crews from the show shot a feature on Halligan’s monstrous sandwich known as the “flatliner,” a three-pound sandwich featuring a half-pound burger, Halligan’s pulled pork, and beef brisket separated by layers of melted cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, topped with beer-battered onion rings and Halligan’s special sauce. It’s served on a 6-inch bun with a side of slaw, a pound of seasoned fries and homemade pickles. Defibrillator sold separately.
The $28 sandwich is free if you can devour it whole in under 25 minutes. Food Network filmed guests in the dining room about their experience at the restaurant at lunchtime between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
