UPDATE 8/19/16:
Richmond Magazine has information that someone else will be reopening Commercial Taphouse in the fall.

Once the Fan beer bar turns the lights back on this fall, it will be with a new menu, though the focus on craft beer will remain, just as it has in years past.

“This new owner is really invested in Richmond and Commercial Taphouse,” Bui says. “History will continue. It will be the ‘same’ place, with new management.

I guess we all sit back and wait and see what happens next.

ORIGINAL POST 8/17/16:
Commercial Taphouse version 2.0 by An Bui (owner of Mekong and The Answer) is closing up at the end of the month. An bought Commercial Taphouse from James Talley back in 2014.

No information on the why or if someone new is moving in. Just this simple message on the Commercial Taphouse Facebook:

Mark your calendars, we are closing! Thanks for the support and come see us off, we will be closing Wednesday August 31st.

I hope someone moves in and takes advantage of the renovations and those beautiful taplines. I’ve already been informed by my significant other that I can’t open a beer bar in the Fan but maybe one of you can.
