From the VHS:

Join us at the Virginia Historical Society (VHS) for a Gallery Walk, Arming the Commonwealth, with Andrew Talkov on Wednesday, August 10, 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Throughout history, people have relied on weapons to put food on the table, to protect themselves, to enforce or defy the law, to defend or conquer territory and treasure, and to liberate some while enslaving others. Join us for an in depth look at the VHS’s newest exhibition—Arming the Commonwealth—which features more than fifty examples of nineteenth-century firearms, swords, and accoutrements from the VHS collection.

Tickets are free for VHS members, $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $4 for children. Tickets are available for sale the day of the walk.
