Does this smell off?

We take a headline from other local new sources and LEGOize it. Why? We’re not entirely sure.

Coronavirus fears causing empty shelves, long lines at Richmond-area stores – RTD 3/13/20

Previous RVA Hub Brick Headlines – Same stuff but on Instagram

LEGO is inherently silly and light-hearted it’s why at my old age I still play with building blocks. Some of the challenges folks will face in the coming day/weeks are not trivial or light-hearted in the least.

Many folks can’t stock-up on food. Missing work for two weeks means going hungry, not paying bills, no life-saving medicine. Please consider donating to your local homeless shelter, food bank, or other charity. At the store buy a bit extra for the neighbor that you know might be suffering a bit more than you. FeedMore and Caritas are two excellent places to make donations. There are many more in the area so find one and give a little.

The service industry is one of the largest employers in the country. Servers and cooks don’t have paid time off. If you can safely go out be sure and tip generously or perhaps buy a gift card at your favorite restaurant to help staunch the financial bleeding.

Your local actors, designers, producers, technicians, stage managers, musicians, composers, choreographers, visual artists, filmmakers, craft artists, teaching artists, dancers, writers & playwrights, photographers, etc. will also be impacted by the downturn in business. This page is an excellent resource for those freelance workers.

Richmond Public Schools are closed that means no food for many children. RPS is continuing to provide meals for families impacted at these schools. If you want to help fill out this Google Form so they can follow up with you.

Most all be kind and help where you can.
